Things that happened in our childhoods — both positive and negative — can have lasting effects on our lives, even in adulthood. They don’t define us, but they can make an impact.
For many people (3 out of 5 Californians) this includes ACEs, or Adverse Childhood Experiences. ACEs are potentially stressful or traumatic events that can happen to us before we turn 18. They can lead to what’s known as toxic stress, which can impact our physical and mental health, and relationships.
We created a new resource about ACEs, dedicated to our Latino/Latine/Hispanic communities. Download it and learn more about community resources, free and confidential screenings, and how to heal at the link in bio.

Self-injury or self-harm can be a way some people cope with overwhelming emotions like pain, frustration, or distress. However, it can also be harmful and even life-threatening.
On Self-Injury Awareness Day (March 1), let`s open up the conversation about self-harm and remove the stigma around it. When people who are struggling see others talking openly about it, they may feel safer reaching out for help.
